Fantasies for Solo Guitar is a crossing of musical sensations including baroque stile brisé, flamenco harmony, electronic effects, and my impression of an ud.

Inspired by the heavy suspensions in Henry Purcell‘s baroque viols; an always on edge flamenco harmony and flamenco guitar technique; the simply woven texture of Jan Antonin Losy and Robert de Visée; and the imagined compositions of Roderick Usher.

The guitars of choice: a romantic parlour guitar, labeled Philippus Guarmandi Bononiensis, a Rodriguez flamenco and a Horabe cedar classical.

Composer Erik Ingalls resides in Windsor Ontario. He is a member of the Screen Composers Guild of Canada and has studied under the auspices of composer Ryner Stoetzer.
